Summer Stroll
17 Aug - 14 Sep, 2024
The Stroll Gallery

In celebration of the hot summer months, The Stroll Gallery is pleased to present the group exhibition <<>Summer Stroll> from August 17 to September 14. This exhibition showcases the diverse artistic practices of five Korean female artists - Woojung Ghil, Suyeon Kim, Duri Baek, Lee Na, and Jiyoon Jeong.

Woojung Ghil's abstract paintings embody the resilience of nature and the inherent tranquility of the human spirit, evoking the beauty of the natural landscape through the theme of 'jeongjeok' (a Korean word meaning 'silence'). Suyeon Kim's delicate glass drawings capture the small, fleeting moments of everyday life, sensitively expressing the hidden narratives and emotions that lie within. Duri Baek's paintings explore the traces of human existence through the play of light and shadow on leaves, conveying meditative reflections on life through the colors of green and yellow. Lee Na's works fuse traditional and contemporary techniques and imagery, using vibrant seasonal symbols to evoke the memories of childhood. Jiyoon Jeong's paintings illuminate the diverse figures of modern society through the use of softly undulating shades of blue.

Together, these five artists' distinct voices and perspectives offer visitors a rich and multifaceted experience of the summer season. Through this exhibition, The Stroll Gallery invites you to immerse yourself in the diverse artistic visions of these five Korean female artists. Each work promises to imbue the summer months with a refreshing sense of wonder, inspiration, and personal resonance. The Stroll Gallery hopes that all who experience this exhibition will have the chance to take a contemplative summer stroll, with a deepened appreciation for the power of art to illuminate the extraordinary within the ordinary.
