Intimate Exposure: The Art of Araki
1 Nov – 21 Dec, 2024
Seefood Room

Exhibition Information

The exhibition Intimate Exposure: The Art of Araki invites visitors to explore the intimate and often controversial themes that permeate Araki's work. His Polaroid images, celebrated for their raw emotion and frenetic quality, allow audiences to appreciate his unique perspective on love, desire, and the human experience. Complementing these iconic photographic works, the exhibition will also showcase Araki's bespoke wood furniture created in collaboration with ARTOX GROUP, reflecting his commitment to craftsmanship and design.

One of the exhibition's most captivating aspects will be the live Shibari performance—a traditional Japanese art of rope bondage—performed by Hong Kong-based artists. This performance, by skilled practitioners, will create an immersive and evocative experience for the audience, reinterpreting conventions drawn from Japan’s aesthetic history to achieve a sensational impact. This thought-provoking and visually stunning exploration of Nobuyoshi Araki's artistic legacy encourages dialogue around the intricate relationships between photography, design, and performance art.

Admission to the exhibition is FREE, with an age restriction of 18 and over. We invite you to join us for this unique opportunity to experience the art of one of Japan's most controversial and influential artists.
