Embracing the romantic spirit of French art, Art of Nature Contemporary proudly presents the solo exhibition of renowned artist Xu Chenyang, from July 4 to August 9.

Xu Chenyang has carved a distinctive place in contemporary Chinese art with his unique painting style and rich textures. Peng Feng, Dean of the School of Arts at Peking University, praises him as “a truly exceptional figure in China’s art world.”

This exhibition, titled “The Familiar Stranger,” reveals Xu’s carefully crafted poetics of “defamiliarizing the everyday.” Through subtle shifts in color temperature, delicately unbalanced compositions, conscious brushstrokes, and unconventional combinations of objects, the artist invites viewers into a threshold space—hovering between memory and imagination, reality and surrealism.
