Pearl Lam Galleries are looking for experienced art sales professionals to join our international team. You will be responsible for conducting sales and assisting senior staff, working closely alongside the local and global sales team. You will be expected to meet monthly and annual sales targets.
Following a rigorous programme, Pearl Lam Galleries presents museum-quality exhibitions that re-evaluate and challenge perceptions of cultural practice in Asia. With a thoughtfully balanced roster of Chinese and international artists, the Gallery is strategic in its curation, positioning itself as an educator. The Gallery's new flagship space will be located in the heart of Central in Hong Kong whilst the Shanghai space lies in the heart of the Bund District. With a team of international staff, Pearl Lam Galleries' reach is global, having presentations at major international art fairs including Art Cologne, Art Basel Hong Kong, Frieze Masters, West Bund Art and Design, etc.
Responsibilities
-Conduct sales and assist directors and global sales team in planning and executing sales strategy
-Introducing new clients to the gallery as well as seeking new clients (local and international)
-Selling gallery programme at art fairs, exhibitions, and events, effectively meeting sales targets
-Assist senior staff by producing artwork market reports and sales research
-Cultivate relationships with institutions and corporate partners
About you
-Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a commercial gallery, auction house, or art consultancy
-A proven track record of artwork sales is required
-Sufficient knowledge of local, regional and international art market is a must
-A self-starter who will take immediate responsibility for their role and tasks
-Target oriented go-getter who will not hesitate to take initiative
-A team player who can work seamlessly with all departments
-A degree in History of Art or Art Business is preferable
-Fluency in English spoken and written. Fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin preferred.
-The ideal candidate will have a confident demeanour and demonstrate the ability to consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
