HKAGA warmly invites you to join us for #SouthsideSaturday on May 23. Wander through Wong Chuk Hang and Tin Wan to discover an exciting line-up of exhibitions.

📸 SHOT THROUGH THE LENS.
This #SouthsideSaturday offers a wide range of artworks through the medium of photography. @desarthegallery presents photography exhibition by Beijing-based artist Lin Zhipeng (No.223) along with Stephanie Mei Huang’s “yellow porcelain ii (outside the Los Angeles Police Academy)”. Placed in conjunction, both exhibitions explore the tactile quality of relationships through utilising the lens. @wamono_art features Paris-based Japanese artists Aki Lumi and Yuki Onodera in their exhibition “Synesthesia”, where both artists create an intersection of visual, conceptual, and perceptual experiences through their practice of photography. “Synesthesia” can be viewed alongside “Resonance” by Japanese metal artist Jun Tanaka. Other ongoing photography exhibitions include “Greg Girard: HKG-TYO 1974-2023” at @wkmgallery and “Keep only the Sunshine” at @boogiewoogiephotography.

 ⛰️REIMAGINING LANDSCAPES
At Alisan Atelier @alisanfinearts, Chinese artist Zhang Xiaoli showcases her meticulous gong techniques through her landscapes, set within surreal, imagined spaces. Other exhibitions include “Bridging Modernities: Africa Voices and post-War Legacies” by @artperspectivehk /LIS10 Gallery. Inspired by the serene poetry and spatial harmony of the Japanese Zen garden, @benbrownfinearts transforms their gallery space into an imagined garden. 

🎨MEET THE ARTIST

Experience the art of living ink with Defan Ma at @ygalleryhk with her calligraphy performance, creating an intimate dialogue between tradition and presence, between artist and audience. To celebrate the closing of Jaffa Lam’s solo exhibition, “Asteroid J-734”, @axelvervoordt_co invites you to a special launch of exhibition catalogue Beyond the Blue. Guided tours led by the artist will take place at 3pm - 5pm.
