Located at 74 Hollywood Road in Central, La Galerie Paris 1839 is one of the first art spaces specialising in high standard photography and photographic fine art prints in Hong Kong. La Galerie presents various aspects of photographic work, from fine art photography to press photographs. The gallery showcases world renowned masterpieces as well as works by growing artists, both locally and internationally. Photography has had a fast development as an art medium over the past few decades. Nowadays, photographs are displayed at galleries and museums around the world, and until recent years it has been seen as a serious arts investment in Asia.
La Galerie builds its arts collection with passion and knowledge. It aims to share with the public the world of art appreciation for photography, and to nurture imagination and individuality. It strives to be a bridge between Asian and western artists. Changing the traditional perspective people have of photography, the gallery strives to create a platform for different artists to tell their own stories in their own unique, creative ways.
