Job Description 

Job Title: Assistant Gallery Manager / Gallery Manager (Depends on experience)

Report to: Gallery Director

Location: Tai Kwun, Central, Hong Kong

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service by engaging visitors in the art space and programs
  • Provide selling support e.g., preparing sales proposal, researches
  • Conduct artist and artwork introduction in a professional manner
  • Assist in planning and organizing events, including exhibitions, art fairs, education programs, special exhibitions at other venues etc.
  • Work closely with the marketing department to implement marketing and event strategies to increase sales, e.g., promotion material preparation, website, and social media platform maintenance
  • Oversee the Gallery’s daily operations, including general office administration
  • Staff are required to travel to art fair when necessary

Requirements 

  • 4+ years’ experience at the art gallery, institution experience preferred.
  • Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
  • Good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Client service centric mindset, self-driven and strong sense of ownership to complete deliverables in a practical and pragmatic approach
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, and responsible
  • Immediate availability preferred

Contract type

Gallery opening hours 

  • Tuesday to Saturday 10 am – 7 pm(Monday, Sunday and Public holiday is closed)
