About us:

Seefood Room is a contemporary art gallery located in the 3 and 4/F of Haus of Contemporary on 9 On Lan Street, Central. The gallery aims to serve as a platform to introduce emerging artists and cultures from all over the world through exhibitions and collaborations. We recognise the importance of a vibrant community and our programmes focus on shining light on artistic talents and educating art lovers.

Seefood Room is currently also developing as a rising source of contemporary art media to keep readers up to date with the latest affairs.

Job purpose:

The sales manager will be responsible for all sales-related duties at the gallery. This includes managing and training the sales team, managing the gallery inventory, driving traffic to the gallery, and client communication. 

Key responsibilities:

• Develop appropriate strategies in expanding the gallery network worldwide
• Identify sales and market opportunities where appropriate
• Identify collectors and use sound judgement in artwork allocation
• Monitor competitive activities in the art industry
• Handle both online and offline sales inquiry
• Prepare sales materials for sales staff and provide training sessions
• Maintain a good relationship with existing client base
• Meet a quarterly sales target
• Communicate with client base in terms of new exhibitions and events through emails, social media platforms, and/or face-to-face
• Follow up on post-sale services, including invoicing and shipping
• Manage the inventory of both primary and secondary artworks
• Attend gallery events, VIP events and dinners, and provide on-site support for fairs and off-site events
• Handle vendors management, including local couriers, art handlers, and photographers
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure the smooth daily operation of the gallery
• Identify potential new artists for the gallery and maintain a good relationship with them

Requirements:

• Must be fluent in both written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Proficiency in Japanese, Korean, or an extra language is a plus
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
• Familiarity with Art Logic is a plus
• At least 1 year’s related sales experience
• Experience in luxury sales and/or gallery sales will be preferred

Sales commission will be guaranteed on all successful transactions.
