Gallery Manager – Galerie Huit

Galerie Huit is inviting high-caliber individuals to join the team as Gallery Manager.

Full time, permanent

Working Hours: 10.30 am – 7.30 pm, 5 days per week (1 day on weekend); candidate is expected to report to duty should there be gallery events that are outside the working hours

Responsibilities:
– Assist Gallery Directors in the production and promotion of gallery exhibitions
– Maintain gallery space and manage the daily operations and staff members
– Managing communications with artists and curators
– Manage international and local logistics of shipping artworks to and from overseas
– Actively build the gallery’s clientele base and generate sales
– Organize and manage local and overseas art fair participation, including development of overseas clients
– Manage all events in the gallery with the assistance of Gallery Assistants and Interns

Requirements:
– Fluency in spoken and written English and Cantonese (Mandarin is a plus)
– Graphic design proficiency with design software: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
– Responsible, detail-oriented, well-organised and self-motivated
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills
– Personal network with collectors, institutions and curators in Hong Kong and overseas
– Strong interest and knowledge in art and Hong Kong art scene
– 5+ years’ experience in art industry/gallery is a plus
– Immediate availability is preferred
