With gallery spaces in the heart of Hong Kong and London, 3812 has both Europe and China written into its DNA. Co-founded by Calvin Hui and Mark Peaker, 3812 represents and exhibits both modern and contemporary Chinese and British artists, fostering dialogues between them. The gallery regularly places their work in major public and private collections. 3812 continues to develop its vision through representing contemporary artists of various genres.

We are looking for a full time Gallery Associate to join our team.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in daily operation and production for the gallery space, exhibition and event.
  • Monitor artwork inventory, logistic, framing, delivery, installation and de-installation with vendors
  • Liaise with staff, art handling companies, artist studios, fine art shippers, framers, and conservators, while tracking expenses and costs.
  • Assisting in private viewings and exhibition preparation including administrative and presentation documents
  • Keep track on artwork status, update and crosscheck system by time to time.
  • Provide safe storage, handling solutions for inventory that ensure packing and condition of artwork is up to standards
  • Assist in pre and post sales area include documents, framing and logistics.
  • Prepare admin and paper work for artwork labelling, releasing form and document retention.
  • Follow up on facilities maintenance for gallery and exhibition.
  • Support local, domestic and international shipments of artwork and deliveries and manage relevant communications in a clear and seamless fashion, including customs documentation.
  • Organize and file incoming and outgoing forms, generate in-house condition reports and perform artwork inspections.
  • Perform general administration for the gallery, train and supervise intern(s).
  • Assist in communication and event when necessary.
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, with a minimum of 2 years of related experience working within the arts community; gallery or museum background preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to work well within a team, as well as independently; enthusiasm and flexibility appreciated.
  • Experience in artwork management, inventory management and logistic coordinator.
  • Strong administrative, professional, detail-oriented, organized, confident, proactive and sociable
  • A good team player who is responsible, result-oriented, independent, able to multitask and work to deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin is essential.
  • Immediate availability preferred
