Cataloguer: Chinese Paintings – Bonhams Hong Kong

Bonhams are currently seeking a Cataloguer to join the Chinese Paintings Department based in our Hong Kong office

As Cataloguer you will be responsible for the incoming and outgoing of consignments, pre and post-sale administration and marketing and cataloguing for the Chinese Painting sales. In addition, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the efficient handling of enquiries, whether by telephone, email or in person at the saleroom, and the up-to-date management of a client database for marketing purposes. You will liaise with clients, as well as perform other general administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the department, including management of stock within the Department. You will also be required to provide help with the setting up of sales, assisting clients with queries on preview days, and telephone bidding on sale days.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, with an interest in Chinese Paintings. You must be organised, have the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines, be an excellent team player, whilst able to work on your own initiative when required.  You will have a sound knowledge of MS Office and Excel. Proficiency in the Chinese languages is essential.
