Project Officer / Senior Project Officer – Hong Kong Art Gallery Association

The Hong Kong Art Gallery Association (HKAGA) is now seeking a candidate with solid experience with arts and cultural institute to join the team as Project Officer / Senior Project Officer.

Founded in 2012, the HKAGA is a non-profit organisation representing 60 of the strongest and most reputable galleries in Hong Kong. Our primary objectives include strengthening the voice of Hong Kong galleries through active engagement with the public and other cultural institutes, as well as encouraging best practice and driving traffic to members galleries through an ambitious annual programme. The candidate should be dedicated, well-organised and able to complete tasks professionally and independently.

Primary Responsibilities

– Work directly with the Project Manager in project/event planning and execution
– Responsible for marketing, public relations, event management, office administration, finances and other ad hoc duties
– Writing/proof-reading/editing press releases
– Prepare reports, presentations, proposals, and grant applications
– Update website and social media channels
– Serve as one of the main points of liaison for galleries, arts & cultural organisations, supporters and sponsors
– Visit member galleries and liaise with the cultural community in Hong Kong to build stronger and closer relationships

Requirements

– Bachelor’s Degree or higher in the Arts and Humanities Field, preferably in visual arts or cultural management.
– at least 3 years working experience with:
*  relevant experience in the fields of Arts and Culture, Media, Marketing or Non-profits
*  preferably having worked in a gallery, art fair and other visual arts organisations
– Experience in marketing, advertisement, press engagement and execution of branding strategies, including online and social media highly desirable
– Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (or one other language) preferred
– Mature, presentable with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Attention to details
– Good organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
– Experience in client and relationship management roles is preferred
– Experience in non-profit and voluntary activity is highly valued
– Knowledge of relevant computer programmes and Microsoft Office
– Immediate availability preferred
