Art Handler/ Technician | Kiang Malingue

Kiang Malingue was founded in Hong Kong in 2010 to build a critical dialogue between Asian and international contemporary artists, both emerging and established, who combine aesthetic concern with conceptual enquiry, and work across different disciplines from video and installation to painting and sound.

We are currently seeking a proactive and organised candidate to join our team as Art Handler/ Technician in the full range of tasks, including, but not limited to daily operation, archiving and exhibition management.
You shall be responsible for:
– Liaise and coordinate with registrar and gallery manager
– Ensure efficient day to day in-house property movement, packing, installation & de-installation, property receipt and release to internal and external clients
– Assist with condition check, take and record condition images, work with registrar on accurate labelling and complete the stock-in process
– Ensure all incidents, accidents, damages or losses, discrepancies are reported immediately
– Other duties as assigned

You are required:
– At least 1-2 year working experience in fine art handling or warehouse operation, with gallery experience is desirable
– Very high level of attention to detail and organisational skills, able to work well within a team and a proven ability to communicate well with internal and external clients
– Able to handle physical works, like material handling or heavy lifting

Studio located in Aberdeen with the new gallery space open this Autumn in Wanchai.
Transfer between two locations might be required. The working hours is from Tuesday to Saturday, 10 am to 7 pm with an hour lunch break.
