Project Manager – Hong Kong Art Gallery Association

The Hong Kong Art Gallery Association (HKAGA) is now seeking a candidate with solid experience with arts and cultural institute to join the team as full-time Project Manager.

Founded in 2012, the HKAGA is a non-profit organisation representing 50 of the strongest and most reputable galleries in Hong Kong. Our primary objectives include strengthening the voice of Hong Kong galleries through active engagement with the public and other cultural institutes, as well as encouraging best practice and driving traffic to members galleries through an ambitious annual programme. The candidate should be dedicated, well-organised and able to complete tasks professionally and independently.

Primary Responsibilities
– Work directly with the Co-presidents and Directors to the Board in developing the annual strategy for HKAGA and drive the execution plan
– Serve as the face of HKAGA to collaborators, supporters, and sponsors, discussing potential and strategic partnerships and raising sponsorship funds
– Prepare grant applications, reports, presentations and proposals
– Visit member galleries regularly and liaise with non-member art galleries in Hong Kong to build stronger and closer relationships
– Liaise and network with the cultural community in Hong Kong in order to identify areas of collaboration and mutual support
– Manage and supervise the team of staff and interns, including overseeing daily office administration, finances, marketing and public relations
– Manage projects to plan, organise and execute events and initiatives
– Work closely and share administrative tasks with the other Project Manager on the team, such as book-keeping, editorial work and sourcing suppliers
– Manage and plan financial strategies for the Association

Requirements
– Bachelor’s Degree or higher in the Arts and Humanities Field, preferably in visual arts or cultural management.
– At least 5 years working experience with:
*   relevant experience in the fields of Arts and Culture, Media, Marketing or Non-profits
*   preferably having worked in a gallery, art fair and other visual arts organisations
*   experience in client and relationship management role
*   demonstrable experience in driving strategic thinking and execution
– Experience in marketing, advertisement, press engagement and execution of branding strategies, including online and social media highly desirable
– Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (or one other language) preferred
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership and organisational skills
– Mature, presentable with the ability to multi-task and work independently and efficiently
– Attention to details and high standard of work ethics is a must
– Experience in non-profit and voluntary activity highly valued
– Knowledge of relevant computer programmes and Microsoft Office
– Immediate availability preferred
