Production Assistant – Empty Gallery

EMPTY GALLERY is looking for a young, passionate and creative production assistant to join us. It will be a demanding job that requires multiple tasks but it will be extremely rewarding with opportunities to travel, meet with artists and host various types of exhibitions and performances.

Responsibilities:
– Report directly to Production Manager and Gallery Manager Material and fabrication research
– Preparing output files for production
– Preparing gallery-related documents including but not limited to: checklists, press releases, price-lists, and press PDFs
– Exhibition design previsualisation
– Equipment inventory management [**expand here?]
– Coordinating production schedule with external vendors
– Calibrate and installing A/V components for installations
– Documentation of exhibitions and events (as necessary)

Requirements:
Essential
– Adobe CS Products (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign)
– SketchUp or similar programs (Rhino 3D)
– Experience with power tools (Drill, etc.)
– Knowledge of projectors and display equipment
– Knowledge of video file output formats
– Physical dexterity (Lifting equipment, using ladders, etc.)
– Proficiency with DSLR cameras
– Ability to communicate quickly and efficiently with other gallery staff
– Ability to work efficiently under pressure such as exhibition or event opening deadlines

Optional
– Adobe Premiere/Final Cut Pro, CAD softwares, sound engineering, soldering/cable assembly, HTML, MAX/MSP/Supercollider, Arduino, etc.
– Degree or Program Certification in Art History or previous gallery experience a plus
