Registrar – Lehmann Maupin Hong Kong

Lehmann Maupin Hong Kong seeks a highly capable and organized Registrar to join our team. The Registrar is responsible for all logistics of gallery related art fairs, sales and exhibitions, and will work the global teams of Lehmann Maupin. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and results-driven individual to grow along with Lehmann Maupin Hong Kong.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate shipping logistics, inspections, access and cataloguing on gallery related art fairs, sales and exhibitions
  • Work with the Exhibition Team in New York, to coordinate contracting of art handlers, installation, operation, dismantlement, logistics and resources planning on gallery related art fairs, sales and exhibitions
  • Ensure insurance coverage for gallery related facilities, artwork, and all material in off-site storage. Obtains riders from insurance company for special circumstances
  • Coordinate damaged works to be repaired by artist or conservator, relevant to gallery related art fairs, sales and exhibitions
  • Conduct condition reports as assigned
  • Conduct packing of artworks as assigned
  • Coordinate all framing jobs and tracks relevant expenses in ArtBase
  • Monitor and tracking inventory and reduce storage and shipment costs with creative solutions
  • Perform accuracy checks for location updates in ArtBase
  • Co-coordinate all viewings for LMGHK
  • Manage and track incoming and outgoing LMGHK consignments and loans, generates relevant documents and coordinates shipping arrangements
  • Working with Sales to record consignment terms

Qualifications

  • Degree or above with major in Fine Art/ Cultural Studies/Logistics or related discipline
  • 3-5 years working experience in Cultural/ Fine Art organisations, preferably in a registrar’s office.
  • Solid knowledge in registration methods, techniques and management information systems
  • Self-initiative, resourceful, creative, and able to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills in both English, Mandarin and Cantonese
  • Experience with Mainland clients and proficiency in Mandarin preferred

This position is full-time, Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 7pm and requires flexible hours to staff and attend gallery events.
